June

I am so excited for this month! We are going to Utah-first to Lake Powell with the Croslands! and then I am staying an extra week with my family! Ben will be coming back for another cloning week with crazy hours so he'll be gone most of the time that week we're gone. Also, we are moving!!! No more neighbors throwing up over their balconies or cement walls surrounding the building. I have enjoyed our time here, but it's not that kid friendly. We live on the partying side of town. We are moving to an apartment complex where half of our student ward lives and it's so nice and open. My mom is coming to help us move, which means it will be done in no time:). Thanks mom! Our apartment actually has storage. I moved over a whole 3 boxes today. It gives me time to figure out how I want everything. Speaking of which, I really want a place to put all the toys that are taking over our house. Any suggestions? This would be the perfect solution: But, it's $700 at Pottery Barn and more than I want to pay! I think most of the time Cody pulls out kitchen utensils and things out of drawers over playing with his toys...

Unfortunately our internet is stopping today, so we'll be internet-less for a little while, but having fun!

'Cloning Week' /and/ Give Him the Chicken

Ben is working at the University of Idaho for the summer. They are working with 70 horses and attempting to clone a horse. He works for a guy named Dirk Vanderwall who was the 2005 theriogenologist of the year, so he is really knowledgeable and it should be a good learning experience. Also, Dr. Wight from Utah State comes up one week a month to do the actual DNA/genetic work. He was part of the team that cloned the first sheep. This week is one of their cloning weeks, and Ben works LONG hours. Yesterday he worked 15 hours and who knows how long today. They give the mares Hcg and then collect the eggs from them the next day. Then Dr. Wight takes the DNA from the eggs and does his thing. Then, they surgically implant the embryo into a surrogate mare. It's really fascinating. We will go get pictures of him at work sometime, but this week is kind of crazy. Plus they have a bunch of people from Korea who came to watch so it's even more crowded than usual. We're just hanging out by ourselves this week!

Ben and I have a little inside joke now from trying to change Cody's diapers. The other day I was fighting with him to change a stinky diaper. Ben said, "Give him the chicken." Thinking he was referring to some wrestling move or restraining hold I said, "Okay, how do I do it." Ben: "No, the plastic chicken..." Now whenever Cody acts up we tell him we're going to give him the chicken.

And this is the little peanut! I'm due around the middle of December, just in time for Ben's finals! We're so excited!

First Haircut

Cody got his first haircut. He barely has hair, but it was actually getting a little long in places. He was really good to just sit and let dad put the clippers to work. I've been telling him all day today that he looks so handsome!:)

More Visitors!

Bonnie, Jeff and Jessi came to visit us and bring us a second car! No more chaffeuring Ben to work and school:) It was so fun to see you guys, THANKS again for all you do for us!!!!
