Do you want to build a snowman?

The kids and I drove to Utah the Saturday before Thanksgiving to avoid a snowstorm coming through.

For the most part, it waited for us to arrive, then left a little bit of snow just for us that next morning.

 Mackayla sat and stared at it for a minute, letting me know a horse was out there in it, too.

 We bundled the kids up to play.

This will be their first and last time this season to play in it!

Even for the time we played the snow quickly started to melt

For a Christmas gift for these cousins we did homemade gifts

We decided to make homemade playdough.

This particular playdough was a staple at Macey's old preschool and parents could come sit and play with it too...it is seriously fun! Who knew? I like this stuff because it never gets hard.

I found some snowmen cookie cutters at Target

and we put "Do you want to build a snowman?!"

on the tops of our tupperware containers.

I didn't take a picture

but the kids got a kick out of the fact that we made some of the playdough yellow:)

Favorite Day 17 - When Sharting is Funny

Who doesn't love to laugh.

I have been somewhat immobile the last couple of days, and I'm fine btw, but these were welcome pick me ups.

Gummi Bears

As I looked at the instagram picture of the face of my sister-in-laws friend I knew that I had to know the mystery of the Haribo sugar free gummi bears 5 lb. bag reviews on Amazon. (Click on that little sentence:)) Who knew innocent gummi bears were so gastrointestinally violent? But, if you had not indulged in a little potty humor lately...you HAVE TO read at least 5 of the "most helpful" posts. They induce streaming tears of laughter, in public, by yourself.

Facebook

Who doesn't love a good facebook spoof? It's fairly comical. Identify yourself. I realize that I am hopelessly behind the times. I'm not afraid to admit it. Then enjoy identifying all the people you associate with on fb that fit the profile. hahahaha I'm totally thinking of mine.

This, this (at the very end) and this are welcome pick me up memories as well:) Part of me wishes I could freeze Macey at two and record everything she ever did. It was dang. funny.

Smart.

I dropped my phone a couple weeks ago.

Barely dropped a foot or two.

It died a final death.

I went to the store to get a new one.

They don't even have "dumb" phones out on display.

But, they did have a smart phone for $1. So I got it.

A week later a cute old japanese grandpa was standing next to me waiting to get kids from school.

He asked me how to scan those bar code thingy-s on his phone.

I said I have no idea.

He started laughing hysterically and taunting me saying I was way behind the times.

IT's not. that funny.

But that was kinda funny.

Does anyone know how to scan the barcodes?

And I'm learning that the camera phone needs an incredibly steady hand. Not mine.

It's so handy for capturing I wish I had my camera moments!

This is Cody approving his ninja Halloween costume.

I just had to go pick one and hope he liked it.

He Loved it and was posing in the mirror for a while practicing his ninja moves!

Springing Into Spring

I took these last week, but now the tree is covered in white.

Popcorn is popping!

I was planning on a rainy dreary spring here, but knock on wood we have had plenty of beautiful sunny days so far.

Really I just took those because i love seeing what the camera can capture.

It's like the first time I got contact lenses and the first thing I noticed was that I could see all the individual leaves on trees. An amazing discovery.

We had some visitors in our yard.

 While I ran inside to see if it was poisonous Cody brought it in to show me.

He seemed pretty mild and unthreatening so I assumed he wouldn't kill us.  

Then he found two.

We let them go a ways away from our house...

 This makes me so happy to see.

 If you can't tell, below is the leprechaun trap. 

As designed by Cody: The leprechaun will be want to climb up the shiny lego pieces (on the tube) then he will get to the top and fall inside the tube because there's only paper on top and it's not strong enough to hold a leprechaun. He will fall on top of the toy cd player and it will start playing music so we know we caught one.

 Nothing in this picture is haphazard, everything is strategically placed to attract the leprechaun.

I can't explain the level of disappointment that Cody felt that we didn't catch one. But I told him that no one caught one and if they did we would probably hear about it on the news.

Direct TV Entertainment

Direct TV keeps sending us boxes for someone else. I finally called FedEx and told them and the woman told me they are just sending empty boxes. I could go ahead and get rid of them. Strange. Am I the only person who has never heard of this?
Well, I had to break them down to recycle and we discovered foam discs inside. (btw speaking of recycling and all things green. Corvallis has a plastic bag ban and now you have to bring your own bags to the store. I feel so Oregonian hippy-ish now and I kinda like it. hmm.)
Back to the foam discs.

Perfect for a little friendly competition.

It's only been a week, but it's become a little post dinner tradition.
They fly just like frisbees.

 Ben and I sit on opposite sides and try to hit each other in the head. 

The kids vary their loyalties, and bring us our ammo, but Ben usually talks Cody into his side and Macey goes with whoever doesn't hit her. Mackayla really doesn't care if she gets hit.

 It gets a little wild as evidenced by the barely hanging picture (that was me) but the soft foam doesn't hurt at all.

Thanks Direct TV. You can stop sending boxes now though.
