I thought setting up the tent in our living room would be a brilliant idea, but it wasn't as cool to the kiddos as I pictured it. Still, they got to watch a movie from inside - the Star Wars cartoon, a current favorite of Cody's.

As requested, here is a picture of the belly. Isn't it crazy how low I am? Sometimes- no actually multiple times a day, I literally fall on the floor from pains because she is so low. Just 13 days! My doctor doesn't check unless you want him to, and I opted not to bother because it doesn't really mean anything. But, I am curious to know if anything is happening...I guess we'll find out when it does happen!
Ben has been working nonstop for the last three days-and obviously all the other days, but just these last three we've barely seen him. He's had calls at midnight and lots of emergencies. He did take Cody in yesterday to "help" him with treatments, which was pretty cool to Cody and they got to spend some time together. Next time Macey will get a turn!

#3

Is a GIRL
I had the ultrasonagrapher double check.
When I told Macey she told me repeatedly "No it's a boy," so I finally decided to let her find out when I have her.
Cody cried until I told him that there's a little girl in heaven who misses him and wants to come to earth to see him, then he smiled.

20 Weeks

Me at 20 (I think) weeks. ha! just kidding. I just looked at that picture last night and gasped because I don't know how I moved around with a planet that size in front of me. That is me the day before I delivered Macey. And that is what I have to look forward to!

3.14=Pie Day

I was craving pie today, so I made an apple pie.

I was thinking while I made it, it wasn't apple pie season.

But I shared some with some friends (they had a crazy day)-who are super smart people-and they told me it's pie day...but Pi Day!
Perfect. Maybe I'll have two pieces to celebrate:)

PS. I had to admit today that I can no longer button up my pants. So after going to the grocery store (for the 3RD time, arg) I unbuttoned them and breathed a sigh of relief. But I forgot to button them back up, so when I dropped the pie off I paraded around with my pants unbuttoned and unzipped. Sorry guys! I'm awesome.

Favorite Sounds

My favorite sounds lately...
The front door opening. Because, thanks to child proofing, the only other person who CAN open the front door is Ben. And it means he's home! Ben has been working overnights so those come home times are random - usually around 8 in the morning, but still nice to have him home:)

Cody's Laugh. The other day I read him The Grouchy Ladybug and he just belly laughs at the end when the ladybug gets whapped by the whale tail. He also laughs so hard at funny movies and Word World. Love it.

I love you from Macey. All kids have strengths. Macey's has been talking, but she never said I love you to me for months and months. I remember the night she finally said I wuv you. Now she occasionally says it and it's pretty sweet. It might make up for the -literally- continuous mischief she gets into.

Sidenote: Usually it doesn't happen at other people's houses, but the other day she UNLOADED a container of Desitin all over the floor of my friend's house and her baby's head. UNCOOL MACEY. Sorry Laurel! It's waterproof...so don't try to rub it off with a damp towel. der.

My baby's heartbeat. We didn't hear it at the first ultrasound so it was so nice to hear at my doctor's appointment the other day. Here's an update for everyone at Utah so you don't gasp when you see my larger-than-normal-for-this-point-in-pregnancy belly. I can't say I wasn't warned I would get big fast my third time around, but it's still fascinating to actually see it happening to myself. Nette I think you can agree I'm showing here right?
13.5 weeks.

7 weeks (3) vs 12 weeks (1)

This is me when I was pregnant with my first, at 12 weeks:

Ah, cute...nothing.
This is me at 7 weeks:

with a belly. Not technically "showing," (baggy shirts only work so long) but REALLY?

It appears as though I will be carrying in my typical 'awkward low' where at 6 months every man, woman and redneck at walmart will tell me I've dropped. That happened last time, so I suspect it will again:)

Cody was very curious today not about where babies come from, but how babies get out. I thought it was a good question. But if he really knew, he wouldn't ask...it is not pleasant!

And last, but not least, this is how I found Macey in her crib during her naptime, which was unsuccessful because she didn't nap. I took a picture of the evidence:
Books scavenged from the bookcase right next to her crib, six blankets she insists accompany her to bed, her pants and diaper not on her body, and a large circle of pee (not visible, but there)!

Big Belly, part 2 and 3

For anyone that actually doesn't know at this point, we're havin a baby! I'm due Aug 25.

At 7 weeks pregnant I showed Cody my belly. He said, "Whoa!! You're belly is really full." Then he couldn't resist grabbing it and squishing it around. New prego bellies are so gross. If a three year old can tell, and grab it, I say I was showing.

A week later, he wisely asked me without me bringing it up if there was a baby in my belly. I told him yes. He pointed at Macey, "And her will be gone!" We explained he could have more than one brother or sister.

A couple mornings later he woke up and came in my room. I said "Hi babe." "Where's your other baby?" he asked. I showed him my belly and told him it was going to get a Lot bigger. He said, "Whoa. You're chumpy!"

I am still having raging heartburn so I will take that as a good sign.

No Baby Yet...but hopefully soon:)

I am going in to be induced today!!! In an hour. I haven't been able to sleep since about 4, which is pretty typical this month for me. I have been having contractions for the last two days, and was already dialated to a 3 before that, so hopefully I will have made some progress.
I went to library time with Cody, his Favorite!, on Wednesday. I sat next to a woman who asked me when I was due. I told her next Wednesday. She told me I looked miserable. (I had actually gotten ready that day so apparently I had the done-with-pregnancy look.) Then she asked me if I minded her saying that I had the strangest shaped belly she had ever seen. No-I don't mind, I'm not self-conscious at this point! In all honesty it wasn't really that offending, but I do think it's funny to hear everyone's stories of how people tell you strange things like asking about twins when you're only having one, or telling you you're huge, etc.
Hopefully we will have a post soon with pictures of a little girl-with a name!

Baby Shower

My sweet friends threw me a baby shower. I got some adorable outfits, beautiful blankets, a cute bath towel, a handmade knit hat and a bunch more. I have such good friends here, thanks so much for a fun shower!

This is the yummy food! The pumpkin (since it's that time of year!) was a little stroller full of fruit:) We played the game where you guess with ribbon how big around my belly is. I guessed way too much because when you're pregnant you feel like a barge, but it was a lot of fun!

October Camping

We just got back from camping today at Kelly Creek with Sam and McCall and their three girls and Craig. It was Cold outside - way below zero during the nights, but we stayed toasty warm in a huge tent with a stove inside. I brought a blow up mattress (that Sam blew up because the inverter blew a fuse in our car and didn't work) because I was not about to sleep on the ground. That with our three mummy bags kept us warm and comfortable at night, although I can't say I slept much at all! Ben and Cody slept like rocks together in their mummy bag. Props to McCall for taking a 2 month old baby - I can't say I will ever do that, but nothing fazes her! Here's a view inside the tent:

Ben's highlight of the trip was fishing. He caught a lot of fish but was pretty upset because he had on the biggest fish he's ever had river fishing, but it broke the line after a good fight. He said it was trying to eat a fish that he caught before he actually hooked it. He fell asleep talking about it, and woke up talking about it...I'm sure he'll be going back to try again before long!

Thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday! Some of my friends threw me a little surprise party. What sweethearts! Erica got me some beautiful orange roses and Erin got me a cute holiday decoration. Thanks girls.

Ben kept asking me what I wanted for my birthday and I finally decided the thing I wanted more than anything else was to go shopping -by myself (no Cody)- and get whatever I felt like. That was a great idea and I had so much fun! It was a good time to look in the toy isles for Christmas presents for Cody too, so I didn't have him begging for every truck he saw. Thanks for the great present Ben, and also thanks again mom and dad and Bonnie and Jeff:)

Swim Lessons & Friends

Yesterday Cody had swim lessons. His friends Lilly and Ava (and Erica and Erin!) are in his class too. He was so excited to be there and was a little rowdy during class. He wanted to play in the shallow part of the pool and would try to jump out of my arms to get there. The teacher finally said to just tell him you're going to let go and then let him go and let him sink a little. I did, and the only part that seemed to bug him is that he didn't get to the shallow end fast enough!
I have been getting quite a few contractions lately, but yesterday every time I stood up I was contracting. After I put Cody down for a nap I laid down for an hour but right when I stood up I started contracting again (Braxton Hicks type of contractions, not painful ones). But by then I had started to get nervous. I took Cody to play outside with Ava and Lilly and called my doctor. They told me to go to the hospital to check it out. Everything was fine but they figure I was dehydrated and that's why I was contracting so much. You're supposed to drink 3 to 4 liters of water a day! Anyways, I am so grateful for such good friends. Erin watched Cody and fed him dinner and Erica came with me to the hospital and held my hand while I cried even though I was fine:)! Thanks so much; what would I do without you girls! This is one of the reasons that I love Pullman - good friends.

August Utah Trip

We DROVE to Utah in August...and made it. Apparently DVD players are a necessity for trips like those, but we made it without one. Maybe for Christmas we'll invest! I took our camera and took NO pictures, so I stole a couple of our boating expedition from Amy's blog (which I'm impressed that you have updated!). We had a ton of fun like always seeing our families. We went four-wheeling with my parents and boating at Pine View with Ben's family, Amy had her baby shower, we had a bbq with some friends, Ben tried out the Flowrider and a bunch of other things!

Amy and I took belly shots. Hers actually looks so cute in this picture because (1) she has a cute belly, and (2) she doesn't carry her baby in her knees like I do:), but it's an update on my growing belly- which while I am writing this I am thinking I am at least twice that size now. Amy is due in less 3 weeks!
Lately I have been working at ChaCha.com answering all the random questions that anyone can think of. If you've never tried it, text any question you can think of to chacha (it's free). I am also giving pills to a woman in a senior citizen living community. A little extra income is always nice! I am quitting ChaCha though and if anyone is thinking about doing it-don't! Some of the questions you get...disturbing and you HAVE to answer them. No thanks! It was fun for a little while.

It's a Girl!

We just found out today at our ultrasound that we're having a girl! The ultrasound technician pointed out that she was very active and when I said I was hoping for a calm little baby she said sorry not this time! Either way, we are so excited and glad that she is a healthy baby. Hopefully I'll be able to get ultrasound pics up, but for now this is my expanding belly:)
To see a cute little video of Cody laughing nonstop check out the Crosland's blog.

DOUBLE THE TROUBLE

But double the fun! We're pregnant:)!
A picture of the belly, or rather my "temporary gut."
And this is the little peanut! I'm due around the middle of December, just in time for Ben's finals! We're so excited!
