Several people asked us after we moved in how the unpacking was coming or how we were settling in.
Moving into an already functioning house has it's perks because we were up and running two days later. It has its own challenges including a mad search through all our boxes in our garage hunting for that one thing I need that I know I have.
What I wanted to settle in was a huge vat of vaseline. Our skin all cracked and dried up the first two weeks we were here. But it has calmed down. I think we have settled in a little better now too.
We are indebted to my parents for letting us live here.

They are thriving on their mission as we knew they would.
March was a good month. A month of adjustments always have their growing pains as we figure things out but we're getting there.
Our kids are getting a little riding time here and there:
There's pros and cons to every place to live.
Every neighborhood, every house, every city, every state.
I'm trying to focus on the ones I love as we adjust to Utah. I'm not always perfect in that focus, but here's what I've loved.
This wasn't on my list of favorite at first: later school start time.
But throw in a few forgotten school assignments and the ability to feed my children, clean the kitchen and let the youngest princess sleep in a bit and I think I'm a fan.
This was one of those forgotten assignments: building a leprechaun trap morning of with dad's help!

I actually enjoy yard work, occasionally. I knew how much yard work this deal would include and it's a lot!
Speaking of yard work. No one told me after I going running, doing 5 hours of yard work, then putting on my "ugly warm" coat and heading to the farm that I would need to be instagram ready to take pictures of these adorable baby goats.
But this baby goat cuddled right up on my arms and fell asleep so how could I not get a picture?! I wanted to keep it, and I don't even want a goat!
P.S. I determined before we moved here that I would be warm all the time even if people made fun of my overdressed ugliness. And I'm sticking to it.
I'm probably going to save up for a cute coat, too;)
March 14th was pie day! I love pie and love a good sunset so we ate pie and watched the sunset together.
Church is ridiculously close to our house and has a fun short walk home
My sister has chickens and sometimes shares some eggs. I love that they are different sizes. You can choose how hungry you are:)
Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock are two of my favorite actresses.
Runaway Bride has this one scene where Julia Roberts is deciding what kind of eggs are her favorite, because she has always just liked what her fiancé liked.
This was super memorable to me because I didn't know what kind of eggs I liked!

This was also memorable to me because I'm a pretty flexible, go with the flow person and it made me want to analyze if I'm too flexible. I don't want to be a doormat.

Hopefully I can live that in relationships that matter most, better.
Now how I really like my eggs, is mixed into some sort of carbohydrate such as these lemon poppyseed muffins, or poffertjes, but that is getting technical.

Poffertjes are a dutch pancake. I'm a good 50% dutch, so this is something I think we should make a tradition. We used to have them growing up. Plus I love them!
One of our between-conference activities was Guesstures. This is the first, only and probably last time I've seen Ben putting on lipstick like a woman and I really wish I had it on video to prove it actually happened. It was hilarious! He got a trophy.
General Conference is right on TV here! Love this!!!
I don't know why, but it was so much more fun having conference in Utah. Maybe it's because a huge majority of people were all doing the same thing at the same time and even going out and about on that weekend people were talking about it everywhere. I just loved it.

Macey went to a sewing class with her cousin Blake and learned to sew.
Apparently I dropped the ball with the whole teaching to sew thing, but she picked it up in no time at all, and so did Cody:)!
They both furiously sewed for a few days until I reclaimed the table
(Ben was ok with it but wasn't overly excited).
Mackayla and I stole away one day to see where in the world West Haven was, which is the city Ben works in.
Plus, eventually we're going to have to find a place to live and it would be nice to be close to Ben's work since he's on call quite often.

Actually, that's the edge. There was so much construction of roads and houses in the actual city I felt inundated with construction vehicles driving around there.

One weekend we went to the BYU Ballroom dancers performing at Davis High.
I loved it!
They even had some entertaining performances for the kids like a video game character dance.
Afterwords we stopped at Sips in Layton. Worth the stop!
Cody is really impressed with his grandma and grandpa's knife collection. It cracks me up.
Wednesday cleanse day! I roped my sister and sister in law into doing a cleanse with me this time. hehe.
Cody had his fourth grade performance. We got there a little early just in time to get great back row seats. I forget that everyone in Utah has 5 plus children, grandparents and cousins. The five people that beat us there brought them all. Cody is in that bunch, but you can barely make him out if you squint. He's on the front row about a head taller than the girl next to him wearing a brown hat. :)
I love that this performance was all about Utah.
It was so fun to hear a little about our new again state. Actually, the state of Cody's birth.
He got to learn the state song, some history, and a bunch of random facts.
