School Days and Scouts

First Days:
Her backpack takes up more than half her little body!
In the classroom
Cody got the "fun" teacher
and Macey got the "strict" teacher.

Walk helper, with her backpack of course:)
This school is humongous, this isn't even a fraction. High school will not be overwhelming to them...it's already as big as a high school.
  Cute Kayla at her coop

 Cody earned his wolf!
And I don't even bother getting ready in 100 degree weather and 100 percent humidity...so there's that.
We're pretty proud of his hard work - he wanted to finish before school started!
His favorite part of scouts this year hands down was scout camp.

Post Vacation Fun Week

We've been MIA because Ben and I went on VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!
More on that later...
Meanwhile I've been a step behind catching up with life, but we've had a couple adventures.

Cody had his baptism preview. I can't believe it's coming so soon...almost 8.
GREAT TO BE 8!
We love having Disneyland close by, because friends love going and we love seeing friends!
The Burbidge's came and we saw them and Tasha and Rob for a bit at the beach.
We love these guys. Wish Ben could have been there. (after taking off a week of work it really wasn't in the cards :( )
The kids all played SO well together...wish we lived closer!!

Mackayla's preschool had a field trip to Trader Joe's. They are awesome. Took them on a tour, told them to pick anything in the store that they wanted to take home and when one smart little boy said he loved cupcakes the manager grabbed some off the shelves and gave them all one:) Needless to say, it was a hit.

Birthday Week

If you would have been around our family October 10
you would have heard an excited announcement from Macey
that it was my birthday and I was turning 34!
It would have been awesome, but that is old and it's unexciting to have that age number announced:)
I do love her enthusiasm though.
I decided to celebrate by going to a movie, and since Ben and I had celebrated the week before in St. George and he was on call, I took one of my other buddies during the day.
Usually after Cody and Macey go to school Mackayla will smile at me and say, "Now we can be buddies."
Meet the Mormons opened that day!!
I figured we could sneak into an almost empty theater at noon that day but the theater was packed- kinda fun to see. And I love the movie.
Mackayla played on the ipad with earphones:)

We got a smoothie and did some shopping.
It was Disgusting and this is her face after her first taste:)
Do not get Nekter juice. ugh.
All in all a fun girls' date with my buddy:)
That night I made crepes because they're Cody's favorite and we got donuts and ice cream which put Macey into a happy sugar coma.

We went to the park the next day and did a family workout on the outdoor workout equipment, then the kids rode bikes and played on the playground.

I went to Disneyland with a bunch of moms!:)
Saw this sign and love it
and love Ben.
This blog isn't all about me...so quick, last thing. I got my hair cut. Just a trim though...how did I even carry my head around?!? Brittany is amazing - she does hair for all these photo shoots and academy awards(no big deal!) and is in our ward, so it was really fun to have her cut my hair. She's good- now if I could just replicate her hair doing skills:/...
Mackayla's preschool went to a pumpkin patch

I pretty much only take my kids to Trader Joe's or Costco (for the samples) to shop anymore-if I have to!
They love looking for the lemur at this store and getting a lollipop:)

Mackayla in Preschool/Ben Getting Older

Our cute little Kayla started preschool.
We are doing a coop with her too, just like Cody and Macey each did one year.
She is going to do great.
I taught the first week. Glad that's out of the way!
Macey helps out for the first hour until her school starts.
 A morning sky in Ladera
This is Ben, as documented on his birthday. Yup that's my birthday picture of him. wahwah.
Happy Birthday!
We're Seriously getting old. It's kind of fun so far...
On his actual birthday he was on call and had scouts. Lame. Birthdays are not quite as cool when you're old and responsible.
But we managed to get him some of the best burgers on earth from Rider's Cafe
and make him some apple crisp (instead of cake!).
We also got to celebrate with Bonnie with an awesome lunch at South of Nick's.
And Disneyland counts too:)

We had a praying mantis join us on our bed one night.
This was only creepy because I had recently learned from one of Cody's many animal/insect informational books that Praying Mantis females actually BITE off the heads of the males.
This is freaky~
They are ranked more dangerous than sharks in the book. That's pushing it a little.

In this picture what you Don't see is Cody peeing in the bushes.
BUT if you had come to one of our soccer games at the elementary last weekend you would have seen him plain as day. He told me right when we got there he had to pee, but the bathrooms were locked. So I specifically told him to "go in the bushes, and make sure no one can see you."
So he walked to the bushes right by the side of the road and turned his back to the five families - so they couldn't see his face - and peed on the bush.
By the time I realized what was happening it was too late so I hurried ahead to hide evidence of our relation!
This is one of our favorite parks.
Lately, Cody especially loves it because he can reenact parts of American Ninja Warrior on the climbing wall and some of the playground equipment. It's Ben's and his latest favorite show.

We love it because there is rarely ever anyone here - it's quiet and secluded.
