Souped Up Garbage Truck

The kids have asked about the cars we see driving around with no roof and now know they are convertibles.
Mackayla noticed we passed a garbage truck today. "Firetruck!" she exclaimed. Macey let her know it's a garbage truck. We kept driving and passed a dump truck. (They kind of look like garbage trucks without the tops.) Macey told us it's a "Convertible Dump Truck."

Best Friends

Cody and Macey
L..O..V..E..
their friends Jax and Lizi.
They came to visit from Oregon
And they picked up right where they left off.
Macey asks all the time about when we're moving back to Oregon.
I gently remind her we're not.
But she still asks. Maybe just in case.
They're off to Disneyland today. Wish we were joining you:)!

The start of a castle.
 And the village, finished product
Salt Creek beach, alongside the Ritz Carlton, is an incredibly scenic beach.
Babies crack me up at the beach. If they're not eating sand they're chasing birds.

Sea World / Soccer

**See the post below for some updated info

Sea World
Petting the rays
Soft, squishy, slimy. FUN!
Macey talked someone into letting her feed one.
We went with Macey's preschool group.
For SIX DOLLARS!! wahoo.

Seals
Macey asked ALL DAY when we could see the shamu show.
As soon as the show was over Macey turned to me and asked me if we could see the shamu show.
Hope she liked it:)
Trammin it across the bay
In the shark tunnel

At the sharks Cody ran in and started naming all the different kinds he saw. He's some kind of shark expert. I didn't even know a blacktip shark existed.

The turtles really are giant

Nothing to do with ocean life, but one of my favorite shows: the pet show. It was so clever and the animals did some incredible tricks!
Dolphin show
Loved it!

Cody's last soccer game was today.
The had some kind of carnival for the end of the season with tons of huge blow up toys, hot dogs, cotton candy, games and a dj. Macey was really getting into it:

And from the looks of that weird never stopping pic it seems you can't tell at the beginning of it she is totally jamming out to the music and then does some kind of backwards shimmy and turfs it.

Cody scored a goal. A great way to end the season!

The team and coach Keith. He's such a great coach!

Poppins Goes To France

**You can help! Donate by mailing a check to The Donna Andrus Donation account, Zions Bank, 33 South Main Street, Kaysville, UT 84037-1922.

My cousin has had a fairy tale life. She went on a mission to France. Then went back with her mission president to teach their sons school while they were in Europe. They traveled to beautiful places and had a literal study abroad, going to museums and soaking up the culture. Her blog is so much fun to read!! She is an incredible writer and you actually get a feel for the culture of the places they visit.

Then, she met her fiancee there. I got to meet them when they came back to the states and they are such a cute couple! She has started writing their love story on her blog and it's as good as a novel...but better because they're real people:) It's called Poppins Goes to France. You really do have to read it.

Back in Europe and wedding scheduled for December, life threw her a curveball. She interrupts her fantasy story on her blog to announce...she has breast cancer. Honest but optimistic, her writing gives you a glimpse of what it could be like to be in that very situation.  We are thankful for treatments and that she is close to one of the best cancer centers. Did you know that with insurance cancer can be in the ball park of $50,000 to treat?

Elder Anderson from the quorum of the 12 apostles heard her story and gave her a phone call the other day! They had met once before and he remembered her and said they would pray for her in their meeting. Talk about powerful prayers being sent her way.

If you would like to help be an answer to a prayer donate by mailing a check to The Donna Andrus Donation account, Zions Bank, 33 South Main Street, Kaysville, UT 84037-1922.

We're praying for you too Donna, stay strong!

I came across this thought in the BYU magazine (one of my favorite magazines:)) and I love it:

Along life's mortal journey
we embrace Christ's
healing power

through our cracks and imperfections.

THAT'S HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN.

Leonard Cohen's "Anthem:"
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in

Halloween 2013

 Eight-Muscle-Ninja-Warrior

Kayla-Bug

 Princess Macey

Pumpkin Dip
 Can of pumpkin
package of vanilla pudding
Tub of cool whip
Mall Trick or Treating
The Lego Store handed out lego kings and queens!
Ice Cream Stop over
to reward this guy for winning a free ice cream at school

  Mint Chocolate
 Birthday Cake
 Rainbow!
Trick or Treating with Friends the Bleaks
Their kids are all the same ages as ours
and we each had a little ladybug!

The tops of all the pictures while we trick or treated are dark...because I was a witch and my hat was blocking the flash;)

The houses were decked out (there's a HUGE spider coming down the house that you can't actually see with the weird flash.)
We ventured over to a new beach today.
 Thousand Steps Beach.
Not a thousand steps
But at least 300
It's not that bad actually

There's a cave over there you can get to at low tide
I think we should make this our summer home, no?

This is why food always has sand in it
This beach reminded me of an Oregon beach. The kids LOVED it. There were perfect places to boogie board, sand castle building of course, and perfect places to explore.
Not crowded. And the PER-FECT day.
My new favorite beach.
