We Had a Visitor!

Pullman is not a vacation destination by any means, but Amy came to visit us anyway! We had so much fun!!!! We got lost in Spokane the first day attempting to shop, and mostly just hung out around Pullman, going to the park, library, talking, etc. I think we held a running conversation from the time she came to the time I dropped her off at the airport:) Thanks so much for coming Amy, you are so helpful and so much FUN!!

My Winter Sanity

This is a picture of what kept me sane through the winter. L to R: Cody (who does Amazing while I walk, he likes it and always gets some fruit snacks!), Erin and Ava, Sabre and Carson and Cora, Erica and Lilly. We walk in the WSU Coliseum. It sounds kind of weak when I write that, but we clip right along at a serious pace and usually get in 4 to sometimes 6 miles which isn't bad at all. I love walking with these girls! Besides us, there is a steady stream of regulars of elderly people. With this long winter, I am so grateful for the coliseum:) I can't wait to get outside!
Today was a busy day for us. We were called in to the stake president's office this morning and Ben was given the calling of 2nd counselor in the bishopric for our ward. Wow. After that I taught sunday school and Cody literally was bouncing off the walls. He's sleeping Really well right now! I'm sure this will be a challenging time, but a time FULL of blessings and fun!

Vet School Open House

The vet school had an open house this last weekend. They had tours of the hospital and a bunch of booths set up about animals. There were balloons tied up everywhere so Cody LOVED it; he pretty much pointed at them the whole time saying "whoa." There was a cow next to Ben's booth that Cody could pet, and it snotted all over me. I had to take a pictures of these two birds. The bird in the picture on the left was huge and apparently blind. The little owl on the right never moved the whole time we looked at him so I thought he was stuffed, but then the girls at the booth told us he was scared of the big bird. The poor little owl's eyes never left the big bird (that I think is an eagle?...I should have asked Ben!).

This is Cody learning what balance is! Now he's ready to play soccer! Although, once again, he just wants to come get the camera.

Cody Walks

One day when I was feeding Cody he was being particularly crazy. He kept slapping my hand with the spoon, spitting food out, and trying to crawl out of his high chair, even though he was starving. So finally I sat back and folded my arms and sat there staring at him. Now, whenever he is frustrated with me, he sits there, folds his arms and glares at me! I wish I could get a picture of it, but it wouldn't work. He's just so little, it's amazing what he picks up!!!

He has suddenly become a fairly good sleeper:) When it's bedtime or naptime, we go sit in our glider and I either rock him a little or just sit with him and he usually is mad for a few minutes and then just drifts off in 5 to 10 minutes. After a year of rarely sleeping through the night, I'm fairly excited about this new habit! He will never need as much sleep as babies his age typically need, but he is such a good baby I can't complain. Crying it out was never going to work for Cody, or ME, maybe with the next one!

I can now say that Cody is officially walking. I always imagined a big post saying 'he's walking'! but it's so gradual, that I didn't even realize it until a few days ago when he kept walking up to me just saying hi, making sure I'm around...walking! He walks! He finally figured out how not to run when he uses his little legs. From what I hear though, with your second, you discourage walking:)
