Happy Macey

Me and Mace had a little impromptu morning devotional.

"And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of neverending happiness." (Mos. 3: 19)

While she was eating breakfast, I read that scripture to Macey. When I finished she looked up at me and said "Happy-Ness." Then we both sang "If you're happy and you know it." I told her the scriptures can make her happy. All she knows is that I said happy, she was happy, and we sang the happy song, and if you ask me that's a great start!

First Dentist Trip

Cody had his first trip to the dentist. Who doesn't love new unfamiliar things, so I thought we would introduce the idea to him the day before we went.

We went to the library and checked out a "locker box." It had every possible thing to get him ready to go-books, dvds, pictures and, of course:), giant teeth and a toothbrush. The day we went he was a CHAMP! He even let them suction his mouth:)

It pays to prepare!

Movie Mayhem and Other Adventures

Ben's 4th year is what it is, and if he does an internship next year it will just be WORSE. We have to go on living SO Adventure #1 of our year of abandonment (okay that's dramatic, but he's gone a lot) was swimming. Adventure #2 was going to the movies. Toy Story 3 in 3D! Cody wore his glasses the whole time and was riveted to the movie, if not a little scared a few times. Macey was a wild woman and watched all of 30 seconds. It didn't help that the glasses were huge and the picture was blurry. Oh and she's never watched a movie before. But we did it! It was good there were just 5 people in the theater. (For anyone interested we went to the movies for free using this promotion!)Last but not least, this summer I have heard "Let's go ride bikes" more times than I could ever count. This is how we spend a whole lotta time.

Swimming Saturday

I decided we needed an exciting Saturday and since it was hot we decided to go to the Moscow Aquatic Park. Cody LOVED it!!

Macey liked it.I have never taken the kids swimming together myself-I've been too nervous. But I just decided it wouldn't be relaxing, and there are lifeguards, so we would be okay. I always love being in the sun and watching my kids have fun. The best part about it for me though, was when it was all over:
Ben is doing wonderful. He is really enjoying Oakridge Equine-the doctors, residents and interns are all nice, he gets to help out (even at 1 in the morning:)), and he sees tons of surgeries every day. Perfect.

Motherhood: An Eternal Partnership with God

The last 2 days and next 2 weeks

Once again, we had a chance to go out on the town with the girls! To Eclipse of course. And to be totally honest, I was pleasantly surprised that the movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I enjoyed it. I laughed so hard when Laura put her seatbelt on in the limo. Good job Laura:) And I had to take a picture outside of our own little ghetto Dissmore's. We had to have sparkling cider...that exploded on Erin when she opened it! (We were just missing Erica and Leslie and a few other girls:)Cute kids, even if I can never catch a smile of Cody's. Ben just left this morning for his 2 week SIPE in Edmond, OK at Oakridge Equine. (He's reading to the kiddos right before he leaves...he's going to miss them!) We hope he loves it! Cody said he would call him on his toy phone every day. And Macey even gave Ben a big 'squeeze' hug before he left. So sweet.
