Dawn Patrol: Lake Powell 2017

Lake Powell 2017: Dawn Patrol was a success!
We started with lunch in Hanksville.
I never know if they really are the best hamburgers or I'm always super duper hungry.
This year was super windy for the first three days so we didn't do a ton of swimming but it was so nice to relax and hang out. Glad it wasn't at the end!

Proof I was actually on this trip. The only proof.
Sandy had a talent. Poetry readings
 that the kids acted out.
and a sweet poem.

Callie took the other two little girls on kayak rides all the time. They sat back and relaxed while she toiled away.

Even though tubing is crazy and fun, someone always gets tired.
This might just be my favorite picture:

We had a great little cove this year where no boats were constantly driving past making waves. It didn't get light until 11:00 and the direct sun was gone by around 5:00.
I think it was good for the kids so they didn't get too fried.

This is what we do when the kids are bad;)

For some reason I didn't get a lot of pictures coming through.
Highlights included a failed attempt at a slot canyon hike,
Ben, Stefan and Luke paddling a giant dead tree trunk away from hitting the boat
sparklers and a fire on the beach
Spy Games that included decoding mysterious messages and clues to searching for the bomb with prizes
hours and hours of fishing!

End of June. Or maybe May.

Wrapping up the end of the school year (if I didn't already?!)
Baseball finished up. Cody is catching below:
Their cousin Callie had the funnest farm birthday party.
They finger painted a horse, roped, race and had a horse back ride.

Macey is always reading to Mackayla. She is such a good sister.
Last day of the three months of school they had here:)

Growing Up

Mackayla had three months at her last preschool.
She technically went to four preschools - that's a lot of school before school:)
This one was adorable though - I especially loved that they prayed at the beginning and had little themed rooms in the school for different activities.
And how cute are these graduation gowns?!
This was a really well behaved class, and all adorable kids.
I went in to help do a spotlight for Mackayla on day. They were hiring for a position next year and they offered me a job as a preschool teacher. I guess after I did it for eight years I finally figured it out. But the thought of teaching preschool made me tired:) and we're moving...again!
After one day of preschool Mackayla did a little tumbling class.
They had an exhibition night.

photobomber almost blocking her backbend...but we got it;)

 Still loving the mountains
 Macey is loving chickens.
And may now want them more than a cat or dog.

After two years of trying to patiently teach Mackayla to ride a bike and realizing that she does not want me to teach her things (everyone has one of these children, right?!)
I gave up and paid our neighbor children to teach her.
They did it in one afternoon.
Best money I ever spent.

Sometimes I am in a store and like to imagine all the things I would buy for my imaginary house and I love both these things.
