Spokane Temple

We were able to go to the Spokane Temple on Saturday. It was such a neat experience. It's the first 'small' temple I've been to. It's about 1 1/2 hours away and then we traded baby sitting while we were there (there's a stake center right next to it that's open), so it ended up being an all day trip. It was fun to have so many people from our ward there too. It makes me appreciate being so close to so many temples in Utah. Unfortunately Macey got sick so she wasn't super easy to watch. Thanks Larissa!

I just saw this quote:
"swimming is the worst part of a triathlon, if you stop pedaling on a bike you coast. if you stop running, you walk, but if you stop swimming you drown."

That's why I'm scared to do a triathlon!!! BUT I would love to if I could find a place to swim and actually learn...maybe I'll make that a future goal.

Sweet Deal

Anyone who knows me knows I like to get things at the best price I can find. So this made me happy and I thought I would share.

Goal: Diapers

Store: WalGreens - I had a 15% of coupon for everything I bought that day

1st Transaction: I bought some Dove Men Body Wash, which is really weird because Ben only uses bar soap...but it was worth it. I had the 15% off, plus a $1.50 coupon, plus WalGreeens has these things called register rewards (RR) and you got $6 RR for buying the Dove soap, which means they give you $6 to spend in the store. SO I essentially MADE $3 by buying the soap.

2nd Transaction: I had a $2 off coupon for diapers, the diapers were on sale, I got 15% off, plus I had $6 RR...Diapers: 49 CENTS (Adding in the soap, since I didn't need it, would really make the diapers $4, but that's still a great deal.) Plus $3 RR for the diapers.

I used a couple of other coupons and deals while I was there, but that one was the best. The girl that helped me was so cute, she kept saying I was learning to be a coupon lady. I think off brands are cheaper but they never have coupons.

I love a good deal and I hope I will still do it even when Ben finishes school! Maybe not with this much planning involved though...

Flying to Three

Happy Birthday Cody! Our little man is getting so big. He turned three on Tuesday! That morning we had blue pancakes and eggs and we surprised him by decorating his room with tons of cars, trucks, planes, etc. (decals). He had a hard time deciding what cake to have, but we finally chose a train cake-Thomas the Train.
His special birthday outing was to the airport, one of his favorite places! We went with Brett and Rachael and Cade. Brett is a pilot and he let Cody see some of the planes he flies. )I can't believe we didn't get pictures with you guys!) I don't think a trip to Disneyland would have been any better. He was beaming! It's the first time in months I've been able to get 'non-pirate' pictures! He even got to sit in the cock pit and 'drive' the plane. So cool! THANKS Rachael and Brett, you guys are wonderful! He also had a little friend get together to eat some cake and play. Here's Macey with her little boyfriend Cade:) They love to help do the dishes.

It's around 7 a.m. in this video; our house has been up and running for a while, not by my choice:)! I had to get this because lately Cody sings all the time. Itsy Bitsy Spider, Jesus Wants me For a Sunbeam, Snowman, Popcorn Popping, and Sing, Sing, Sing are a few favorites.
Macey is still showing no interest in walking as of right now, but she gets so proud of herself when she stands and loves walking with the walker. I sometimes wonder if she can walk, she just doesn't want us to know:)

Holiday Recap

We had a wonderful time in Utah! It was so fun to have Cody understand what was going on during Christmas. He loves 'Presents!' Just today I asked him if he wanted to sit in the bigger new carseat since Macey can sit forward now and he said "yes, my present."

We did so many things but I will summarize and give a few highlights: eating, I went shopping, Ben went fishing, Cody got to play with his friend Clayton, Macey got to watch the dogs and Kitties, we watched movies, pictures with santa, reading, kangaroo zoo, eating out, swimming at South Davis Rec Center, playing Blokus, playing other games, seeing good friends, so much more I can't think of at this late hour.
A couple of things: Cody hates getting his picture taken, loves presents (especially trucks), and loves being "naked." Macey loves getting her picture taken and loves Loves dogs and cats.

Once my mom told Clayton he would need to sit in time out for a minute and Cody ran between them and held out his hand to my mom and said "No! He's my friend."
Once Macey woke up in the middle of the night and kept saying "Kitties" over and over and over. After swimming...aren't they cute?:)Even though we left our party early, this documents that Ben and I were awake at midnight on New Year's (in bed by midnight, but still awake).
One highlight for Ben and I- we went to the Zermatt Resort for two nights, without children!! The resort is so fun and had amazing food. I could have stayed in the aromatherapy steamroom all day. Our parents each watched the kids one night...thank you, thank you!!
