A Room in Our House

First, I wanted to point out these guys. They are the knobs for all the cupboards in the kitchen. At first they creeped me out, but they've grown on me and now they kind of add to the weird, vintage-ness (oldness) of the house.

The best quality of our house is the AC. Yesterday was a record breaking 105 degrees but we didn't feel a thing due to the amazing coolness in our home. Thank you AC.

And not to complain too much...but that little white contraption in the picture...that's our "dishwasher." It holds 4 salad plates, three cups and several utensils. I'm not sure it's worth the work of loading and hooking up to the kitchen sink and running for 1 1/2 hours. By that time I could wash those little plates and forks and the rest of the dishes that don't fit in it without the sink being out of commission. Who invented those and why aren't they bigger? Oh wait, there ARE bigger ones, just not in our house. It's good for me and I will really appreciate dishwashers one day when we have one.

Other noteworthy things in the picture - the wood paneling. Not sure what decade that is from, but I would LOVE to change it somehow. Maybe it's the nesting, but then I have always wanted to fix up an old house. Maybe prime and paint it.

Those little cupboards, props to my parents for their gift, hold our food since we have no pantry. Thanks again mom and dad. And last but not least, the antique light fixture. It's cute enough, but I want to update it by about 30 years.
There you have it. Our "dining room."

Did you by chance get your "pantry" at Target? That's where we got out pantry :)

My parents have painted paneling and it works just fine. I'm sure with a little time, some "nesting" motivation, and your crafty flair, you'll have the place looking charming!

Hopefully the owners are open to some improvements. If they're smart, they will be:)
By the way, I MISS YOU! I miss chatting and I miss working with you more than I can express at the moment.
I hope you're feeling well!

Painting the paneling would look great. Maybe you should do it white and the wall a different color. It's awesome you're in a house either way!

I'm totally with Rachel on this one. Paint the wall a color and then prime and paint the paneling white and make it look wainscoting!!
My sister in law remade their bathroom and kitchen cabinets by painting and restaining. They look fabulous. So much you can do. I'm sure being pregnant doesn't always help. I know I sure didn't have the energy!!

So glad you made your move! Hope everything is well and you look great! Are you excited/nervous to have 3? It's fabulous but it sure gets hectic! You asked me a while back where I got my maternity shirts and I just got them at Target. SO comfortable and cheap which is what you need when you're pregnant.
