It's Baseball Season

Baseball season is going full force!!
First game was on Saturday.
Cute message from the coach:
 Hello Harvard,

Congrats on a great first game!  The team played well and really hung in there.  Short of one big hit by the other team's best hitter, we were ahead most of the way.  Just as important, the kids kept their heads in the game and were well behaved throughout.
Some highlights:
  • Parker gets his first hit of the season and turns it into a double!
  • Cody catches a solid two innings and smokes one to center field!
  • Alex pitches two scoreless innings!
  • Ryan goes 2-2!
  • Brody goes 2-3!
Sunday's team practice was rained out so I hope you got some individual practice in.  Try to play some catch before Weds if you have some time.

I never thought I would say I love watching baseball
Because
It's boring to watch.
But suddenly
It's Not!
I finally get it.
The only bummer of course would be those Sunday practices, but we'll be sure to practice during the week with him!
And RAIN on practice day-- There was lightning and thunder! The kids have totally forgotten what that is and when they experienced it they were shocked. Haha. We should go back to Oklahoma so they can really see what lightning and thunder is!

I volunteered to be one of the team scorekeepers. It's not just keeping track of how many runs come in. That would be easy (and would be what I thought I was signing up for:)). You keep track of who bats when, how many balls and strikes, who gets out how, and when, who was involved, and a host of other things I never dreamed would be so demanding of my brain to keep track of. It sure makes a slow moving game seem like it's lightning fast.

We have a team photographer who took all these pics. He got some great shots of all the players.
Cody's strength is definitely batting. It makes it fun to watch. Go Crimson!
