Sequoia National Park

General Sherman is the largest tree on earth

We hiked up Moro Rock.
There are like 400 steps carved into the granite of this mountain leading straight up to the top.

I kept calling out "The Meadow!" because that's what they say in Bambi and it's catchy, but this is one of the meadows along the way.

If you look closely you can find a little bear cub. On our way back from our hike to Tharp's Log (Tharp is apparently a name of a man who lived in a tree-house) we saw two bear cubs and a mama bear. It was so fun to watch them for a minute, I have to admit being that close to a mom and her babies was a little too close for me! Then not far from them we saw a deer. And then a black bear the next day!
This is our Sequoia through a Sequoia in Sequoia. It was too perfect to pass up a drive through.

Our last day in Sequioa we drove to Crystal Cave.

It's a half mile hike straight down around a bunch of little waterfalls. They warned us of snakes and they were definitely lurking around!

On our way out of town we stopped at several produce stands. This area is full of fruits and veggies!
My parents came back home with us for another day, just long enough to have a feast fit for kings!
King crab, that is.
Luckily Steph and Ryan had this with my parents the week before and reminded us how much we loved the Crab Pot in Seattle. So we recreated it here too.
My favorite is definitely crab legs, but corn, shrimp, potatoes and scallops are all delicious too.

It was so fun to spend some time with my parents, before their mission to Oklahoma! They will be living in Lawton, OK and on base at Fort Sill. Should be an adventure!!

We were in the Lawton Stake when we lived in Wichita Falls. And we had a few friends based at Fort Sill. Good luck to them, that is awesome!
