Disney for Days

Disneyland with cousins is the BEST!!

You guys. This is the "rocking car" of a FERRIS WHEEL.
So it only makes sense that this is Splash Mountain.
I could look at that picture every day to make myself happy.
And if you can just relive the moment with me -
We planned our seating strategically because I had to sit with Mackayla since she's not old enough to go alone, but Macey needed some reassurance. The ENTIRE ride Macey was asking me when the drop was coming and if it was coming yet and how high it was.
If you don't know (or don't remember like I didn't!) the ride winds around a long time before the drop, totally building up Macey's anxiety.
Finally, we plunge down and Macey grips the side of the log like she is willing it to stop, not unlike the way she used to ride the toddler slides at the park.
Then, she asks if the drops are all done and I assure her they are. Then she starts crying hysterically.
THEN, two hours later, she declares it one of her favorite rides.
And now you have a glimpse into the life of Macey.
Never dull.
I just love her!!!

Midway Mania is one of my favorite rides.
Once we went to Disneyland on a date with our cute friends Rob and Tasha and she taught me to hold the string in between your fingers with your palm facing you and pull it as many times as you possibly can the whole ride. I'm still terrible, but I would do a lot worse without that tip.
These maps Macey is displaying were super important to my kids. They liked to study them. I like to do that too so they come by it honestly:)
Another map, thanks Vanna.

Mackayla was such a trooper. I swear she doesn't get sick more than the other two kids, but she does seem to get sick at more inopportune times than them.
Just thinking and looking back through my blog, she is constantly in a stroller or carrier that she's too big for because we are going to do something fun and she's sick. Poor third child.
She's just so good though. The only way I would even know she has a fever is if she casually mentions it's cold and the only reason I would think she might have a fever is because she never gets cold. She never complained the entire day, just hung out in the stroller and went on rides with us.
Her and I actually peaced out a little early that first day and took Mackayla to the hotel for a bath. On the way there the stroller was shaking violently from Mackayla's chills.
By some miracle her fever broke and she was able to enjoy the next couple of days with no residual effects.
(Sorry Disneyland-goers there with us this day...)
Screamin is Cody's favorite ride.
Brody's signature thumbs up.
Can I give a shout out to how pure delightful this little guy is? He is genuinely grateful for just about everything. Hand him a glass of milk? You will get a heartfelt compliment about how thoughtful you are to get him a glass of milk, and what a great person you are all around. I want to be more like that!
Everyone loves the merry go round

except apparently me.
I think this was one of everyone's favorite rides - Cars.

I didn't even know pin trading was a thing, but it is.
The kids thought it was pretty cool.
Some adults are super duper into it too. At first it made me raise my eyebrows a bit because sometimes I'm a tad judgmental like that, but after a minute of listening to a guy I actually decided he made it so much more fun for the kids and he was a good guy.

Macey told me this was her favorite part of California Adventure - the Frozen show.
It really was well done.
 Powering through...
Cody got a special picture since he had his birthday pin:)

Cody and Clay were devastated if they ever didn't get to go on a ride together. Like really devastated.

I always try to get pictures at Disneyland in the morning with the kids looking into the sun and they always end up with everyone squinting and Macey's sensitive eyes watering:)
We got there just in time to watch Brigham, Benson and Vanessa fight as Jedi knights. They had stayed at a hotel across the street and got there early, and we sauntered in later:)
Brigham didn't crack a smile. If you didn't know him you might even think he was bored. But he was actually shaking a little when he went to fight and if you asked him what happened you got an incredible story of how he cut off Darth Vader's head and then he came back and got him and then he killed him. His imagination is amazing!

Benson's dream came true fighting darth vader!
  Star Tours awesomeness
Don't forget to notice and appreciate Brody's thumbs ups or Brigham's awesome poses.
Brigham and Mackayla didn't want to go on one of the scary rides so we went on winnie the pooh while we waited and Annabelle snoozed. Steph might have been the favorite aunt, but I got Annabelle to sleep. Just sayin. I'm pretty sure she cheated by buying all the kids cotton candy.
Anyway, this is where Brigham and Mackayla bonded. I also kind of love Brigham's responses to everything.
They came out of winnie the pooh best friends.

There was some terrible driving done this day

And we finally tried one of the gigantic turkey legs. It fed 5 people ample amounts of meat. We also got the clam chowder bowls. I think I could eat one for every dinner till the end of time.

I don't think Orange County has great restaurants in general, at least not in the area we live, but my favorite place to go is the Packing District. It's kind of an artsy building with tons of boutique-y foody people restaurants.  We went there the last day Nette and Jon were with us. We also hit Downtown Disney, but it wasn't near as cool now that the Lego store took down their car ramp. Booooo! :)

Nette and Jon and co. went to Disneyland three days in a row, plus swimming and shopping on the last day. Their kids were out cold that night.
Ben, Steph and I went to the beach with the kids the next day. It wasn't particularly warm, but the kids still loved playing. I even took a half-nap, recovering from two days of Disney and way too much carrying feverish Mackayla while standing in lines. She's getting huge.

Our last day together we braved Disney again in the rain.
Only Disney in the rain is awesome because lines are finally doable.
Even after the rain I rocked the poncho all day. It's a good look I think.

Look who's getting too cool for school
(hint: not those of us wearing ponchos)

The only major downer about Splash Mountain was not getting splashed, because we had our awesome ponchos, but was that some water splashed over into the car and then splashed all over Mackayla's feet. I had to squeeze water out of her socks. Luckily I had extra socks and shoes, but the shoes were Cody's...
I've waited to ride small world for over an hour, so it was Awesome practically walking right on the ride!!

I thought my brain might explode trying to keep my house in "showing" condition every day with extra people and going to Disneyland and sick kids, and a million other things. But it really wasn't bad at all. It was super fun!
I'm so glad my sisters were able to last minute come visit!! It was so much fun spending time with them. My kids would constantly ask when they would get to see their cousins and it's a bummer always telling them I don't know, so it was fun to be able to tell them 'next week'!
Now it's our turn to visit You!!!
