The day after Lake Powell Ben went to clean the boat and unload and I got to delay doing the laundry and headed to youth conference.
I was just called into young women's not long before.
What a fantastic morning - three speakers and a service project with an organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
They make beds for underprivileged families in the area.
They figure once they get rolling with a group they can make something like 90 beds in an hour. Maybe that's all wrong - but it's an insane number of beds.
It's an assembly line army of people doing one simple job starting with plain 2x4's, all the way down to the stain in vinegar and steel wool which is one giant dip in a giant tub.
I helped with the assembly of all the pieces to make the bed and it was kinda fun using so many different types of power tools.
I'm bummed I waited so long to write about this because now I cannot for the life of me remember what the theme was, I just remember thinking what an awesome morning it was.
The next day was father's day.
We each contributed to Ben's sign.
One little known talent of Ben's is that he has incredibly steady hands and can get any sliver out without ever hurting you. It's seriously a gift - I'm not even being facetious.
I got him a gift certificate to get a massage.
He got me one for mother's day and I thought it would be fun to bring him along.
We just barely cashed in for a fun date night.
We stopped by to wish Papa Jeff a Happy Father's day too!
I still take a picture of the sunset about every night because they're always super pretty.
