Good Thoughts to Remember/Cedar City Temple Open House

Dear Macey,
Please always keep this kind of optimism, gratitude and belief in yourself.
 Afternoon shenanigans

Kind of last minute we decided to go to the Cedar City Temple open house on Ben's day off. What a fun day!

Then we went to these hot springs in the middle of nowhere. I don't even remember what city, but it's a ways out:
When it's cool outside it's so fun to hop into a warm pool.

There are three separate pools within walking distance of each other.
My personal favorite part was the third pool. It's the coolest of the three so we didn't just want to get in and swim, but there are tiny little fish. And if you put your feet in they come up and nibble at them. People pay money to have their feet "cleaned" by these little fish.

Thanks to worker's comp Ben and I got to go to a Jazz game in a suite with Ben's family. Jeff gets tickets every year. They have good food to go along with it, too:)

It's crazy how early everything starts for Christmas preparation.
We were asked to help plan the ward christmas party.
We were in charge of invitations (as per Ben's volunteering;)).
Jessi kindly prepared two choices for us using her computer program. My favorite was the bottom choice but one opinionated person said they looked like checkerboards.
I know this is unoffensive, but I was a little surprised that this person felt comfortable sharing that opinion out loud in a group. So we picked the safer (more boring) option.
About a month later, when all the decorations for Christmas bombarded the stores, and had red and black plaid in overabundance, she said she was sorry she didn't pick that one. I thought that was thoughtful of her to remember, since it wasn't that big of a deal, and it was a good reminder to me to maybe not share my opinions too hastily all the time;). I for sure do, but I hope I can remember this!
P.S. I put the wrong church name on the invitations. aaaaagh. Y THO?

Hike and Halloween Adventures

I drug my kids on a hike. They loved it at the end:)
I really hope they learn to enjoy hiking, because we're going to do more of it.
It turned out to be a pretty long ways to the waterfall, but we made it!!

We went to Pack Farms pumpkin patch in Farmington the day before Halloween with the Larsen cousins and Oakley (and Jessi, Amy and Bonnie).

And of course, Pumpkin Carving.

We ran a little race in Farmington called the Mayan Miracle. It's a fundraiser for housing projects in Mexico. There's a raffle for someone to win a humanitarian trip there and Bonnie always puts tons of tickets in. They kind of know the organizers and think it's an awesome organization.
Anyway, Cody won the race for kids! It's a 5k and he was pretty thrilled and got a macabre skull trophy.
I ended up getting third place overall for women and they gave me a $40 gift card to a shoe store, which was awesome since I needed new running shoes. I was shocked too, because I was running it to pace Cody and help him and wasn't really even trying. I guess it pays just to enter!

Right after the race he went to his last flag football game.
