Baseball is in full "swing" and Cody is really loving it. His favorite part is definitely batting!
I assigned Mackayla to do the scripture and prayer on Sunday in junior primary.
At this point in her life she doesn't like to talk to people she doesn't know, and I knew this would be a huge step for her to take to talk in front of 60+ people.
We immediately started practicing the week before.
She kinda froze up repeating the scripture to our family, but pushed through it.
I told her that if she did this, she could get a puzzle. She is really into puzzles lately.
We went and picked one out on Friday. This was her "incentive."
I told her to just look at daddy who would be standing in the back.
We drew a picture of what it would look like.
Sunday came and her turn to say the scripture came.
She didn't want to go up so I picked her up and held her.
She was shaking in my arms.
I told her the first word which was Luke.
This screechy high little voice boomed into the microphone "Luke" surprising me a little.
She said the whole thing and even did the last word by herself.
That, my friends, is COURAGE.
I know most people there didn't even know or appreciate the bravery it took but I'm SO proud of her!!
(I love her hair in little bob ponytails:) and we love watching AFV together Sunday night!)
Most people also wouldn't guess that Macey used to be terrified of being in front of people.
In fact I told some friends at boot camp that very thing and they didn't even really comment because it seemed very unlikely I knew what I was talking about.
She had just informed all the moms as workout ended that she had a performance to do.
Everyone went over and watched her sing and dance to supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
It was pretty impressive, honestly! I was surprised she could remember everything from her singer's company class.
This is her favorite silly face to make:
I make some awesome crazy faces too. They come naturally, really.
I love her cheery disposition, it just makes me happy:)
Sometimes we get to tag along with Ben to work.
This is him doing his thing!
Yup.
I love that he loves his job!
- not specifically this part ;)
Just some pictures of Mackayla: Self portraits that are AWesome!
On Tuesdays, I have two hours between the time I drop off Macey and pick up Mackayla that I am ALONE.
ALONE!
I asked a couple of friends if they wanted to go to the beach with me, but everyone was in different directions, and let's be honest, I love being alone!
So I went
for 42 minutes (running up and down the long stairs to get there included)
and listened to my book on my 1970's headphones.
It was heavenly!
My favorite popper things at the beach:)
Luke 1:70
"He spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began."
I'm excited for conference in April, and the chance to listen to our current prophet!

Haha I love this! I have two hours twice a week that I'm alone and it's like I don't know quite what to do with myself. I teach yoga one of the days, but Tuesdays... just like you... it's the best ever!
Congrats Mackayla!! So proud of you. Keep doing it even if it is scary.
