Family Get Together 2015

Sometimes I feel bad that Ben has to stay and work while we run off to have fun with our families.
And then we drive for 12 hours without him and he flies in comfortably
and I think it's not so bad for him.
This time we stopped on the way up and got a picture of those crazy trees I love to drive past.
We also got to stop and see Uncle Eric. My kids love visiting him!!
Once we made it to Utah we went to the Museum of Natural History up by the U of U with Becky and Micah and my parents.
It is quite impressive
What also impressed me was Cody's vast knowledge of dinosaurs.
I had no idea.
Mackayla's artistic pose of some sort:) over some dinosaur bones
These stairs were suspended over a huge dropping wall on the inside of the building.

Mackayla found a friend who loves puzzles as much as her!
 We saw the Peanuts movie

I drug my dad over to Ogden High School to take a picture of the cornerstone one morning. I had read that my dad's grandpa's name was on the cornerstone and sure enough he was.
Gerrit J. Kruitbosch
We wandered in Ogden High School and up to the library.
The librarian let us into the archived section in the back where they have the oldest yearbooks.
He was in a few of the oldest ones when the school was built.
He's on the far left

 Craft Day
Nette and Jon were nice enough to take the family pictures.
That is a feat!
These are just mine behind their shoulders.

Fun to see a friend from high school there too!
One day I convinced the kids it would be fun to rake leaves. They really got into it looking forward to the chance to jump into them.

My Aunt Charlotte came and made cotton candy for all the kids on talent night. Two little pieces of hard candy makes a big cotton candy so it's the perfect treat for kids.

My favorite time: talent show night.
Clayton did an awesome magic trick
 Brody did a pumpkin rhyme
"Are you ready people?"
"People! It's not. done!"
Vanessa did a pantomime that was hilarious
  Mackayla showed her art work
 Micah played a guitar song

 Macey sang two songs
 Cody sang a song
Benson wiggled his ears (or at least he can!)
One of the beautiful things about this trip was its simplicity. We were mostly all in one place so we didn't have to stress about planning everything out perfectly, and we could always hang out with someone because we were relatively close. I have missed hanging out with my sisters, they are so much fun, and my kids LOVE their cousins so much and ask when they get to see them next all the time and of course the kids love their grandma and grandpa time!

On the drive home we started getting a little antsy about the time I saw a sign for Fort Cove.
So we stopped.
And I'm so glad we did.
What a fun place! Also, it had snowed so the kids were thrilled!
Before we got here the snow was pristine, but the kids were sure to trample every little corner.
The fort is impressive and we learned quite a bit about their way of living. They were hard workers and pretty smart about the way they used what they had.
This is the second most visited church site with about 75,000 people coming through; luckily we were the only ones at this moment for our quick stop.
This is definitely worth driving to!!
We were also lucky enough to drive the rest of the way home safely, coming a few feet from hitting a deer. I saw the panic in the deers eyes and his legs pumping as fast as they could. So glad we were all safe!

Now because I'm too lazy to post another post, here are some cute pictures of some cute kids and cute bunnies:)
These are Holland Lop bunnies and they are so sweet, gentle, calm, and cuddly. It definitely makes me want a bunny!
I went on a run in Newport near Crystal Cove Beach during one of Cody's choir practices. I definitely want to explore this area some more again!
