This year in Lake Powell:
The year of the lily pad
The year of fishing
The year of 10 under 10
The year of Crosland Strong
...and the year of the flu.
Cody, Macey, Mackayla and Ben each had their turn with it, along with almost everyone else. Luckily it just lasted less than 24 hours. It's never fun to throw up on vacation though!! And while I'd way rather clean it up than throw it up, that's not my favorite thing either:)
Some firsts:
Rexy's first time in Powell
Oakley's first time in Powell
Mackayla's first time water skiing, and going off the slide.
It was a full body pancake from the 10 foot drop...so not a big hit. (But, a big Hit!)
Cody also really got the hang of wake boarding
It was one of his favorite things
along with fishing
He went off the slide 15 times this day
Went on a hike one day
He loved all his baby cousins.
And this is pretty much what his hair looked like most of the week.
Macey loved water skiing, tubing, and the auction with cotton candy:
and fishing, too.
Mackayla loved tubing the most. Loved it.
She surprised me this year being a little bit of a dare devil. Subtly, of course.
Mackayla told me that Uncle Tyler is so nice and "he always makes her hug him." I love it.
Somehow on clean up and clean out day she managed to stay asleep through most of the work and moving. Safe to say she is not a morning person!
Millions of seashells
Primary in Powell
At the talent show Cody Macey and Mackayla sang Gethsemane.
Callie sang a cute song
Blake impressed us all with her superhuman strength
Macey entertained us with a story she wrote about drinks.
(They are all delicious. Some are healthy. Some are not.)
Lucy did her cute ballet recital dance.
And Clara did hers.
Mackayla drew a picture to share.
Preparing for our egg drop contest:
No actual winners, but Sandy's egg was most intact, so she wins:)!
Paddle board wars!
We had a chalk war one day:
I really regret not bringing my better camera, so all my pictures are a little far away and a little blurry...next year.
This is probably right before I turfed it so hard I got a tiny bit of whiplash. (Every year!)
I don't wakeboard enough to get any good. I hate cold water way too much for that. Now I do it just enough to remind myself I'm not too old yet.
The water this year was 74 degrees. Not bad at all!
Move out day is always pure, organized chaos.
Until next year Powell. Always a good time.
Thanks Bonnie and Jeff!!
I love all the crazy rocks that jut out in random places on our drive out from the Lake.
This drive back was made a little more exciting by the fact that our air conditioning broke about 40 minutes in to our drive. And it wasn't exactly cool.
Luckily we were all in our swimsuits.
Then Ben and I pawned our kids off to everyone else's cars, got more soda than I had drank the previous entire week, sat them in our laps with wet t shirts around our necks, rolled down our windows, and rednecked it home.
It wasn't the worst drive ever, just really not the best:)
