Dance~Chalk~Clean Bellies

Dance is one of the most looked forward to events of the week
Of ballet, tap and tumbling
Tap is her favorite so far

Mackayla cannot wait for her turn.
Sometimes we dress her in her pink tutu swimsuit and she insists on wearing the extra ballet shoes there while we wait.
The road behind our house is not Really a road,
because only the houses with garages facing it use it.
So it's fun to draw on. and ride bikes.
Those people are by Macey. They are priceless. I love her people.
Two facts about Mackayla:
*Every time she laughs hard she gets the hiccups. Since birth.
*She has the cleanest baby belly. She loves to wash her belly and gets an impressive lather going each night. Not letting her wash her belly with adequate amounts of soap is simply not tolerated, she takes it pretty seriously.

Land of Legos

We LOVE visitors!
She came with spoils...have you ever seen a Nerds box that big?
The kids had school and soccer and we went to Cinnamon Productions - yum!
Then, we decided to ditch school on Friday and go to Legoland!
This is the perfect time to go...no lines and great temperatures.
While the girls dug in the dinosaur dig, Cody and I went on the dinocoaster.
We also went on a lego car roller coaster and Macey enthusiastically ran up with us...and then just as enthusiastically burst into tears as we neared the front. So she opted out on that one, but it did have a pretty intense drop so I'm sure she's glad she didn't go. Maybe next year.
At lunch Cody sat back in his chair and gave a satisfied smile and said, "So this is what it's like to miss school."
I can guarantee if you were to ask Macey what one of her favorite parts of Legoland was she would tell you "Root Beer."
It just makes her so happy.
We took a boat ride through miniland.
The Eiffel Tower is made of 120,000 legos.
NYC and SD
Just past Pier 39 with the little barking seals is the row of cute victorian houses in San Francisco!

This little stinker INsisted that she drive the boat. She's not good at all, no surprise.
After a fun filled day of Legos we got to go to an arena to watch Ben team sort. It was so fun to watch! There's something about the kids playing in the dirt and a bunch of cowboys (even if they are californians) that makes me happy. I didn't grow up around cowboys, but I married one, and it just feels like home.
I love when little babies love babies. This little girl was just patting Mackayla like she was an infant.
Ben, Bonnie and the kids headed to The Wedge Saturday morning while I had to stay and write my talk:). I spoke on Sunday.
Then Cody had a soccer game. I think he was so happy to have his grandma watching him. He skipped around the field almost the whole time unless he was running for the ball. Sometimes he was in a little neverland world picking daisies and sometimes he was right in the game going all out. Such a cute little guy.

We even got to go to the Newport Temple. Thanks for babysitting!
She found the girls the cutest little chevron skirts at swiss days...
I love swiss days- I think I'm going to start saving to go next year!
Come again soon grandma Bonnie!!

Preschool

Miss Macey is going to preschool! In a last minute twist of events there was a spot for her in a coop, so every month and a half or so we'll be teaching at our house. The kids are all cute and the curriculum seems good, so I'm excited and Macey is thrilled! She already had me find out the name of the cheese crackers from snack time so we can have them again;)

School, a Birthday and Yoga

As possibly the last district in the nation to start school, Cody started 1st grade this week!
So far...he has two best buddies, but they just like to call each other buddy so they don't know their names;)

On that same day, Ben had a birthday!
We celebrated by going for a night swim.
It is going to have to go down as one of those memories that makes parenting all worth it. We had so much fun together.
We of course had to have a cake commissioned by the kids. They chose a horse to go on top and we made homemade banana cake for dad, so he would at least eat some:)

Tonight I went to a relief society dinner. It was so fun to talk to a group of women, it feels like it's been a while. Ben had things under control at home. Mackayla pooped in her pants (which doesn't happen any more...pee is another thing coming, but I haven't changed a poopy diaper in months. Thanks for waiting Mackayla!). Anyway, I digress. It got all over her clothes. Ben told me he got her in the bath to wash it all off and left her clothes to soak. In the toilet downstairs.
?????
I thought I would die laughing but he thought it was really smart.

Okay Carly, this message is from Ben.
How d'you like them apples?
 See? Yoga is Simple:)
I know, I know. But we think we're hilarious

We've tried out a few new beaches over the weeks (to us). Aliso beach (we didn't like it). North Beach (rocky but nice facilities and a playground). Salt Creek (nice! and a big hill down to it) Newport by the first pier. (we were surprised to find a Ruby's diner at the end of the pier!)
I almost never take my camera because I'm afraid of the sand!
 This river meets the ocean

 Soccer is in full swing

Macey started dance, pictures to come. We bribed gave her an incentive the first day with the promise of ice cream afterwords, and she LOVED it! (the dancing and the ice cream) She asks me every day when dance is. and Mackayla almost killed Macey to get her tap and ballet shoes.

Laborless Day

We had such a fun weekend. Ben didn't have to work:)! We went to the beach and boogie boarded and built sandcastles on Saturday. Church on Sunday. The pool on Monday. It was a busy day at the pool. At one point I was at the baby pool with Mackayla and Cody and Macey were with Ben in the big pool. Macey came running over to join and from across the pool yells to me at the top of her voice: "We are coming swimming with you so daddy can go pee, or maybe poop!!!"
Everyone smiled as Ben walked by.

Macey loves to think about different things. Who really knows everything that floats through her mind. This time she mentioned that maybe Mackayla wasn't a good name for Mackayla when she gets bigger. She suggested a few other names that would be appropriate. If she's a boy "Thunder" could be her name. If she's a girl, "Other Macey," or "Smaller Macey" might work.
