Mackayla says new words every day. Just the other day she held up a pen and proudly announced just that, "Pen!" If she poops she comes in and very urgently gets my attention. I can ask her to go get the diapers and wipes and she will. At prayer time at night she will obediently fold her little arms and bow her head for at least 2.3 seconds. It's precious.
I remember being equally surprised at how much the first two knew at such a young age. It is quite amazing how much little babies know and absorb from the world around them.
They are all born so unique.
Mackayla always wants this necklace.
The other morning she woke up and urgently called for me. Normally she'll just kind of holler to let me know she's up. So I went in there and she was pointing on the floor to the necklace I wouldn't let her sleep with the night before.
She is still holding strong to her desire to not walk yet. But everyone once in a while she'll take some steps.
I love "unstructured play" (a structured name for letting my kids do what they want while I blog. Or clean. Or cook. I can be responsible.)
One day I was cooking while they were playing.
They were on a spaceship adventure and were superheros.
As I listened in I realized I was part of the adventure on the spaceship. I was the cook. How imaginative. And unexciting for me. Oh well, everyone has to eat.
(Not to get too technical but I actually think it would be so boring eating in space. There is no cooking possible.)
