Some of the things we're thankful for we stuck on this turkey's feathers

And even if she has learned nothing else from me, I have taught Macey well:) They made these in her primary class.
A good friend brought us over a little pre-Thanksgiving cheesecake. Delicious!
We stayed in town of course. Some friends, the Moss's, invited us over to spend Thanksgiving with them. Such a great family (one of those families that I could list on my list of amazing people I've met).
She told us to come over and just act like we were part of the family.
Ben had to work all morning, but got off in time to go on a bike ride with the kids while I cooked. They loved it!
Just as we headed off to dinner he got the dreaded on call-phone call, but at least got to eat dinner and spend a few minutes with us before he headed in.
As we headed over I noticed some clouds settled around the 'mountains' surrounding our house. There's one:
Like a scarf tied around them. And another one:
I don't know how I managed to forget to take a picture of really anything while we were there. We had fun and had amazing food!
Oh wait, now I remember why...
Speaking of her, she is always hotter than me. We have different core temperatures. If I'm perfect she is hot. It's hard to plan how to dress her and I'm constantly covering her at night and making her uncomfortable. oh well.
Cody and Macey have so much fun at their house. The older girls are adorable and so good with little kids.
I tried pecan pie and it was delicious. The oldest son made it (he's around 13?)!
Cody's friend is hilarious. So outgoing, she loves to wrestle but her mom does not love that she loves it:) And this is one of my new best friends:
She's one of my favorite nursery babies.
Speaking of wrestling:
I managed to miss the intense faces Cody gets when he wrestles his dad
Mackayla loves the action and always comes to wrestle her dad too. If the boys are being too crazy though, she'll find someone else.
Just to sneak this in at the end-last but very un-least- one of the things I'm most grateful for this year is a decision we made as a family. Coming up in a few short days is the resident application due date. We are not turning one in. At first, I felt like we were literally and figuratively standing at the door of an opportunity, someone waiting on the other side, and all we had to do was knock. It felt like a wasted opportunity. One day, a Sunday, Ben was on back up on call. He went in at 7 am and didn't get home until late that night. Just on back up. It was the day we were fasting to confirm a decision we already were leaning toward. Decision confirmed. One of the many times we talked about it he mentioned "I want to work to live, not live to work." I'm looking forward to that change. We would have made it work if he did something different, but now I don't have to worry about it. WHAT A RELIEF. This setting is not very family friendly. In fact, he's one of two that even has kids in the hospital.
Ben is a great dad and wants to see his kids. It is important to me that they know that it's important to him that he has time with them. This is what we have time for.
I can't put in a title like that and not mention that we are so grateful for our families back home. We are SO EXCITED to visit them in a couple short weeks!!!!!!
