Brake for Spring

We drove to Utah to spend spring break with family and friends.
We stopped in St George for a breather and to run around a bit.
Poor Cody was sick with a fever the entire week that started the day before we left.  We think it was a sinus infection, and after a seven day fever, we took him in and got some antibiotics. Mackayla got sick too.
All in all, we're so glad we were able to go to Utah for spring break (I hear it was cool here in CA, so that makes me feel lots better ;))
It's always fun to see all the cousins.
 The three six-year olds
 The three three-year olds
The two boys - oldest and youngest...so far!

It's definitely spring here! I love the tulips!
I have no talent for braiding - so I clearly did not do this!!
My sister Becky did it in five minutes flat. I don't even know how this is possible, but it's awesome!

We spent some time rolling change to take to the bank and ended up saving a bunch of quarters to collect all 50 states. Fun morning :)
One day we headed over to a fun center with skating, blow up toys, arcade games, and a play structure. If all the kids would have been 100 percent it would have pretty much been the coolest place ever. As it was, they loved it! All that for $7, you can't beat that!

We went one afternoon to the movies to see Cinderella - I love it!!!
I think it's one of the best made movies in such a long time.

Ben and I got to visit some friends from vet school in Evanston. It was so good to see them (picture getting fail!)
The kids were going to come, but since they were mostly sick, we left them with grandma Sylvia and Grandpa Bob.
If you look closely, you can see the entire town of Woodruff, Utah, where they live. It's about a half mile away from this picture and takes about 1 minutes to drive through!
Ben had some fun in the clinic!
The "Smallest Store in Utah" is that white thing on the ground there.
I wanted to stop in and see what actually fits in there, but didn't, and I hear there is a cashier actually sitting inside, too.
This seems unremarkable...but being in California so long...I think I took about ten or twenty pictures of the wiiide open space. It just looks so nice. and open. and unpopulated.

Excuse all the car frames in these pictures, I do a LOT of drive by camera shooting.
I had to get a picture of devil's slide. It's a favorite in this canyon.
Last but not least, we stole a few minutes on our last day to go to the "farm."
On our way we stopped to see the Great Horned Owl and its babies in a tree by the farm.
Macey kept asking Ben to hold her arms still while she looked at it.
It was hard to get a great picture amongst the branches, but you can make out the owl by its ears and the fluffy gray/ white baby next to it.
Ben checked some horses, trimmed some feet, and we brushed some horses, pet the cat, and drove the toy tractor around. It's pretty much one of the best places to be in the spring.

(You can just make out the owl's nest in one of the trees in the background on the left.)

Those half grown front teeth make me smile :)
Our drive back is always long, but the kids are AWESOME. It's almost easy. Hopefully I don't jinx myself. We stole a pic of Macey reading to Mackayla. They watch their fair share of movies, too ;)
Until next time!
