A few random things from the last few weeks.
Macey had her baptism preview.
Each of the parents said one word to describe their child.
We have strong good kids in our primary. I said compassionate and Ben said kind for Macey.
Friendly and fun are two more of a million we could have said.
She got a special cookie and of course saved it, admired it and finally, shared a piece with each person in our family. :)
She also got a healthy kids cookbook from her grandpa and the cantaloupe fruit bowl was a hit.
Cody lost a molar tooth. He just ripped it right out!
Macey randomly took the opportunity to write the tooth fairy a letter while the fairy was stopping by.
The fairy wrote a tiny letter back
Macey wrote another one the next night, but the tooth fairy didn't write back. Since she wasn't at our house...
Ben and I went to Wicked.
I've wanted to see it for a while and overall I thought it was clever and well written.
I took this a few weeks ago, but I have run this trail quite often lately. Yesterday I almost ran into a huge orange snake with a black and white tail and couldn't get my camera on to take a picture. It was surrounded by cactus on either side so I couldn't go around and had to wait for it to meander across the trail. eeek
I was thinking today how some of the people I admire the most have some pretty hard things to deal with. There is a talk about a link with Desperation and Motivation. This talk is from Sister Wendy Nelson:
Would you be willing to try
an experiment for 30 days?
Daily kneel and thank your
Heavenly Father for the
scriptures.
Tell Him the one question you
most need to have answered
that day.
Plead to have the Holy Ghost
with you as you read.
Then open your scriptures--anywhere--and read until you find the
answer.
Try it for 30 days and see
what happens.
I pray that this year you
will have some moments of
anguishing desperation that
will propel you further along
the path to becoming the man
or woman you were born to be.
Your true self is spectacular!
Never settle for less.
