Ben's parents came to visit over president's day weekend. We went to the beach and swimming pool of course, and got some good food in between.
It's always a small world in the mormon community. Bonnie and Jeff made the connection between some of our friends in our ward here and a long time family friend of theirs from Utah. They text messaged this picture to them!
They were kind enough to babysit on Saturday so Ben and I could go on a date. It's so nice not to have to stress about getting back to a babysitter, and just knowing the kids are in good hands. We went to a shady massage place where they give "foot" massages that are full body massages, and don't even bother speaking english, nobody does, just lots of gestures and "OK's." I kind of love it. Then we finally saw Star Wars!
This cracks me up. Macey was reading to Mackayla on our drive to the beach while she patiently listened crossing her legs like a little old lady.
Supposedly with El Nino this year all the beaches are losing their sand! It was really apparent when we went on Sunday evening to Montage and the ramp leading to the beach ended in a sharp drop off. I lowered the kids down to the sand so they could play below.
This lifeguard chair wasn't even really accessible anymore!
Monday Kevin was able to join us! And I'm lame because I never take good pictures, and I didn't document his presence. But he looked great.
We went to Riviera where the kids found some of their friends nearby and Cody got to try out his skin board. The sand, again, wasn't the greatest, but he loved it!
Mackayla was in chip heaven.
Cody trying out his skin board for the very first time~
I laugh so hard every single time I see this. The sand!...
