Choosing a Toy / 6 Months Already

Cody and Macey got a surprise in the mail from Grandma with some money and instructions to go get something they wanted. On our way to the library and the store I explained they could choose a toy with their money, but it couldn't cost more than they had. (At the library we got some Mary Pope Osborne Magic Tree House books-5 year olds LOVE these! Read them!)
It was so fun to watch them at the store. Macey immediately grabbed a barbie for exactly her amount of money. She was satisfied so we kept looking with Cody. Cody carefully examined each and every toy, asking how much each thing cost. He wanted a Star Wars Ship that cost $40 which was too much so he knew to keep looking. He chose a car, but had money left over so he also got a T-Rex and a snake. But then Macey saw some angry birds and decided she didn't want a barbie, she wanted a blue Angry Bird. Then they went and each paid by themselves for their prize. Getting the coin change was almost as exciting. Hopefully they understand a little more how money works.

I have a pic of Cody and Macey with Macey wearing the same outfit (but she's a little older around 9 months). I thought I would post it too for memories' sake.

Mackayla is 6 months. When did that happen? She is my reward for having a third child when I did. I'm glad she's third because I've been able to enjoy her without being overly anxious with the newness of everything. With Cody, I didn't sleep for a year and Macey - well - she's my sugar and spice. The combination of the two of them is so fun and loud and intense and Mackayla is so calm and peaceful (for now anyway-she's getting kind of energetic and busy). I do love holding her and just enjoying her. That being said, I can't accomplish anything. A feeling that I also felt with baby numero uno and dos, so I'm sure it will pass once I don't have a baby, which won't be long.
She loves everyone in our family SO MUCH. She lights up whenever she sees any of us. With Macey she lights up and clings to me, but still lights up. Once Macey discovers that yelling an inch from faces and whipping blankets isn't fun for babies, they'll be tight!:)
Today while we were at the store choosing toys Mackayla was getting really tired. The only way you know she is getting tired is she doesn't smile when you smile at her. Soon I realized she was going to sleep so I just pulled her cover over her carseat. I never understood before her how people kept their kids awake late or for long periods of time. Not because I think it's bad parenting, just because I could never do it with my kids. They would make my life miserable. But I could see how it could work with Mackayla. She's pretty easy going.
She HATES laying on her back. Always wants to sit up. Almost sitting by herself, just topples a little. She rolled about 2 weeks ago for the first time! She was technically strong enough before that, but the combination of not wanting to lay down and being pretty easy going meant she didn't really try.
At this point she's fairly quiet, just content to listen to everyone else's chatter.
She loves ALL food, which she has tried pretty much anything I eat, except milk products and peanut butter. She kind of gets offended if I don't share while I'm holding her!

Ian is the same way. He hates when we don't share with him what we are eating. Your kiddos are cuties

I have to tell you. I love how Cody holds the baby's head in every picture. So cute! It makes me smile every time I see it!
