Learning to Love Praying

Do your children hate praying? Mine did. Almost every time we would ask one of our kids they would inevitably whine and say no.

Enter sweet Blake.

Amy told me the secret to getting your kids to pray was to have another little kid over who loved to pray. So Blake proceeded to pray at every single meal we ate, the entire time they were here visiting. We always asked for a volunteer and she ALWAYS volunteered and said such thoughtful sweet prayers.

After she left the most amazing thing happened. Cody and Macey started wanting to pray and even fighting over who got to pray. Fighting, but still- an improvement! Tonight just before we were about to pray I was getting everything ready and stole a bite since I was starving and Cody was shocked and said, "Mom! We have to pray!"

Apparently Blake learned to love praying from her cousin Lucy, so it must work.

Now every time Macey talks to Blake she tells her she can't pray:) We'll work on that.

Mackayla finally found her voice today. During dinner she started randomly making noise (which is random for her) and said "Da Da!" She was so proud of herself and kept saying it. She'll figure out before long what she's saying and be so happy she can say that:)
