4th Fun

Happy 4th of July!
Holidays are days you really miss family, because those are the fun days to be with family, and when everyone else around you IS with family. But, aside from that, we have really figured out how to enjoy this holiday! I think seeing friends throughout the day really makes it more fun.
We started out with the parade.
This parade is really just a few cars driving by, the firetruck, and a bunch of people walking down the street. But they throw enough candy to make the kids happy!
Then we went swimming at a smaller pool.

I think Ben could swim every single day. He loves it the most!

We took a break and had a potluck lunch at our bishop's house with a few other families in our ward. So fun.
Then we went swimming again!

We came home and quickly got ready before heading to the fireworks and games. There is a carnival for the kids before fireworks.
Mackayla is showing off her airbrush art on her arm and Macey is sporting her fancy headband she won.
 Awesome photo bomb Lily:)
As soon as the sun goes down here it gets really cold.
I really do miss warm summer nights and fireworks are always cold, but it is also nice to sleep with your windows open with a cool breeze blowing through.
Mackayla was impressed with the fireworks, and she and Macey even did some impressive dancing through some of the songs.
Ben woke up at the crack of dawn with a few other dads in our ward and staked out the perfect spots for us to watch the show. They were literally right in front of the fenced off area with all the fireworks shooting.
We have the walking-home-mass-exodus-after-the-show down pretty well now too. It's a mile walk to our house and the older two ride their scooters and we push Mackayla and all our stuff. It's nice not having to fight traffic.
Grateful for the freedoms we enjoy in our country.
